Hello! My name is Cambrie Höglund, and I am a Reading Specialist at Compass Elementary School. I began my career in education in 2012, having served as a District Elementary Instructional Coach and elementary teacher where I taught 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. All these experiences were in the St. Joseph School District.
I am passionate about literacy instruction and the science of reading. My professional training includes Early Childhood LETRS, LETRS Volumes 1 and 2, and LETRS for Administrators. In addition, I am a certified facilitator for LETRS Volumes 1 and 2 and have helped lead several teacher trainings. I am also UFLI trained and have experience with a variety of literacy programs and instructional platforms. As a lifelong learner, I value continued growth both personally and professionally. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Middle School Education and my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Missouri. I also earned an Educational Specialist degree in K–12 Leadership and recently completed a master’s degree as an Elementary Mathematics Specialist through Northwest Missouri State University.
Outside of education, I have been happily married to my husband, Samuel, and together we have two wonderful boys, Grayson and Quinton. Grayson is in kindergarten and Quinton is in preschool.
