Holly Pippin

Music Teacher
Compass Elementary

Holly Pippin has been a Platte County Pirate at Compass Elementary since 2016. Prior to joining Platte County, she taught in Colorado for 13 years.  Her teaching experience is in elementary music and treble voice choirs.  Mrs. Pippin's music education background is in American and world folk music and dance, as well as instrumental music, and she strives to incorporate an appreciation for all types of music exploration, performance, and appreciation into a variety of classroom experiences. Students sing, play, dance, listen, compose, conduct, and study a wide variety of music styles and genres throughout their elementary years.  Compass musicians have access to ukulele, recorder, and percussion, and every grade presents one music program each year. Also offered is the Treble Treasures Choir for 4th and 5th graders, where singers gain better knowledge and training in vocal music and have the opportunity to perform for school and community events in Platte City.

Mrs. Pippin is primarily trained as a singer, but also plays flute, piccolo, recorder, ukulele, piano, and all the classroom percussion!  In her free time, she enjoys trail running/racing, singing, dancing, outdoor adventures, and reading.  She lives with her husband, Robert, who is a music professor at Northwest Missouri State University, and their dog, Watson, who is training to become a therapy dog and a trail running buddy!
