Hello! I’m Carrie Kilian, one of the special education resource teachers at Compass Elementary School. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Special Education from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. I work primarily with students in 4th and 5th grade. Before becoming a Platte County Pirate in 2020, I taught K-6th grade special education in Saint Joseph, Missouri for four years as well as middle school life skills in Wahiawa, Hawaii for five years.
I live in Platte City with my three children, who keep my calendar really full with football, wrestling, baseball, and soccer. In the rare times I'm not at a sports field, I like to read, travel, and cheer on the Chiefs.
